HEAT Objectives

Hollister HEAT  Youth Softball is a volunteer non-profit
organization dedicated to developing fastpitch softball skills in the
youth of San Benito County while promoting fair playteamwork
and self-confidence.

bulletVolunteer - The HEAT is run entirely by volunteers, parents
just like yourself, who put aside valuable time to provide our
kids with an opportunity to play the greatest sport going,
fastpitch softball!  But nothing happens without the parent’s
participation. Get involved!  You can start by contacting one of
the committee chairs and asking how you can help.

bulletFastpitch Softball Skills - The HEAT’s primary purpose is to
provide the kids with the skills necessary to play competitive
fastpitch softball.  Fundamental skills are taught to both
players and coaches in preseason clinics. Everyone loves to win;
however, coaches will be expected to promote an understanding
and mastery of the game as the way to really be successful.

bulletSan Benito County - The HEAT is a countywide organization
and which seeks participation by players from throughout the
county.

bulletFair Play - The HEAT will make special efforts to distribute
talented players evenly among teams and will provide a balanced
team make up to assure competitive games.

bullet

Good Sportsmanship - The HEAT will not allow poor

        sportsmanship including foul language, belligerent
actions or intimidating statements particularly not from
        coaches or parents. The
HEAT is there for the kids. The
adults are there to guide and serve as examples of how to
        behave.

bulletTeamwork - The HEAT will emphasize the value of teamwork.
No single player can do it all; it’s the team working together
that brings success.

bulletSelf-Confidence - The HEAT seeks to establish an environment
of success. Players are encouraged not belittled. By developing
skills while promoting fair play and teamwork in a positive
atmosphere, the
HEAT will produce self-confident kids!
